The Aero Design and Engineering Company dates back to 1944 and the first
design, the L.3805 which was built in prototype form only and first flew
in 1948, was the forerunner of a long line of very successful light
business aircraft. The Model 520 was the first production variant and
approximatelly 70 are still in flying condition. Aero Design changed
their name to Aero Commander in 1960.
