Aeronca 11CC Super Chief


The Model 11AC Chief (1867 built) was a development of the Aeronca 7AC Champion and first flew in 1947. It featured a wider fuselage to accommodate side by side seating instead of the tandem seats in the Aeronca 7 Series. The next model was the 11BC Chief(181 built) which had an 85hp(63kW) Continental. The Super Chief had a larger fin and balanced elevator surfaces. The Aeronca 11ACS(93 built) was the floatplane version of the Model 11AC. The Model 11 is still flying in large numbers particularly in North America. A Model 11AC is illustrated below.
