Aerospatiale AS350B Ecureuil


One of the most popular helicopters in the world the Ecureuil has been built in a number of variants. The initial version for the North American market was the AS350C A-Star which was powered by a 592shp(441kW) Lycoming. The AS350B1 is powered by a 684shp (510kW) Turbomeca and has a MTOW of 4850lb (2202kg). The AS350B2 is powered by a 732shp(546kW) Turbomeca and has a MTOW of 4961lb(2252kg). The AS350BA has the rotorhead of the AS355 Ecureuil 2 and a maximum take-off weight of 4630lb(2102kg). First flown in 1997 the AS350B3 is powered by a 847shp(631kW) Turbomeca and has a MTOW of 4960lb (2250kg). The AS350D A-Star Mk.111 for North America is powered by a 615shp(458kW) Lycoming and has a MTOW of 4300lb(1952kg). The AS350D1 A-Star Mk.111 has a MTOW of 4000lb (1816kg). Helibras in Brazil have built more than 210 Ecureuils since 1979 as the HB350B Esquilo.
