Aerospatiale SA321J Super Frelon


The prototype Super Frelon heavy helicopter first flew in 1962 and the type saw service with the French Navy in the maritime patrol role as the SA321G(24 built). This version first flew in 1965. The SA321L(16 built) was built for South Africa as a troop transport and the SA321K (12 built) was built for service with the Israel Defence Force. The SA321JA(12 built) was for China and 13 SA321H were sold to Iraq. Libya received 9 Model GM’s. The Model F(9 built) were for commercial use. A total of 112 of all variants were built.
