Airbus Industrie A318

The A318 is the smallest and one of the newest airliners from Airbus and was developed from the A319. The forward fuselage was shortened by 2’7”(0.79m) and the rear fuselage by 5’3”(1.59m). It also has a larger fin than the A319 but retains much commonality with both the A319 and the A320 including the same fuselage cross section which has a six abreast layout. An alternative powerplant is the 21,600lb.s.t. CFM56-5B/P. It is the main competitor to the Boeing 717.
