large family of gyroplanes including the 447, the single seat Commander
503 powered by a 47hp(35kW) Rotax 503 and with a maximum take-off weight
of 590lb(268kg), the single seat Commander 532 Elite powered by a
64hp(47kW) Rotax 532, the single or tandem two seat Commander 582
powered by a 67hp(50kW) Rotax 582 and with a maximum take-off weight of
750lb(340kg). At least one example of the Air Command Commander 147A was
built in 1996. This was a fully enclosed cabin two seater powered by a
170hp(126kW) Mazda 13B rotary engine. It had a cruising speed of
75mph(120kmh) and a maximum take-off weight of 1500lb(681kg). The
similarly powered, but open cockpit Mazda Tandem was offered in kit form
having made its first flight in 1991. The two seat Commander Elite F-30
is powered by a 110hp(82kW) Hirth F-30 and has a maximum take-off weight
of 910lb(413kg).
