The AT-400 was a turboprop version of the AT-302A and was quickly
followed in 1980 by the AT-400A which was powered by a 550shp(410kW) P&W
PT6A-20. The AT-401 (198 built) first flew in 1986 powered by a
600shp(447kW) P&W and with a maximum take-off weight of 8250lb(3745kg)
and wingspan increased to 51’0”(15.53m). This was in turn followed by
the AT-401A (1 built) powered by a 592hp(441kW) PZL 3S radial engine.
This was developed as the AT-401B (69 built) powered by a 600hp(447kW)
P&W R1340 radial and with a maximum take-off weight of 7860lb(3568kg).
The AT-402 (82 built) first flew in 1988 powered by a 680shp (507kW) P&W
PT6A-15AG and had a maximum take-off weight of 7800lb(3540kg). The
AT-402A (67+ built) and the AT-402B (170 built) were similar to the
AT-402 with a slight increase in maximum take-off weight. The aircraft
illustrated below is an AT-402A.

The company displayed an example of the AT-500 in 1984 at the National
Agricultural Aircraft Association’s national convention at Las Vegas,
Nevada. This was the prototype for a series of larger Air Tractors which
resulted in the AT-501 (11+ built), a two seat version powered by a
600hp(447kW) P&W R-1340-S1H1G radial and first flown in 1987.
