The Antonov AN-30 was developed from the AN-26 for the aerial survey role and
featured an extensively glazed nose. It is also used for mineral
prospecting and microwave radiometer surveys which measure heat
emissions over land and sea. It is easily converted for the transport
role. At least three were operated by the Romanian Air Force. A small number of AN-30’s remain
active in civil markings.
