The Pitts S-1S is the certified production version of the model S-1C and
was built by Aerotek at Afton, Wyoming. The model S-1T (60+ built) was a
more advanced version powered by a 200hp(149kW) Lycoming AEIO-360-A1E
and with an empty weight of 830lb (376kg). The wings of the S-1T were
moved forward 4.5” (11.5cm) to compensate for the more powerful engine.
Apart from the Aerotek built examples, both the S-1S and the S-1T were
available as kits.
