Avid Catalina


   The Avid Catalina began life as the Avid Amphibian which first flew in 1985 powered by a 65hp(48kW) Rotax 532. The Amphibian was made available to homebuilders as a kit supplied by Light Aero Inc. of Caldwell, Idaho. After a number of upgrades the aircraft was renamed the Catalina in 1992.
