The Avian touring biplane was built in several versions, the prototype
being designated Model 581. The Model 591 Avian 1 (2 built) were
pre-production aircraft followed by the Avian 11 and the Avian 111 (38
built) powered by a 80hp(59kW) Armstrong Siddeley. The Avian 111A ( 58
built) was a strengthened version of the Avian 111. The Avian 1V (190
built) first flew in 1929 and had a MTOW of 1523lb(691kg). A small
number remain active.
