The Tutor was designed as a replacement for the Avro 504N as the RAFs
basic trainer. It entered RAF service (394 examples) in 1933 and also
served with the Royal Canadian Air Force (7), the Greek Air Force (30),
the South African Air Force (2) and the Danish Navy (3). One example
remains airworthy.
