BAC Jet Provost T.3

Originally designed by Percival and then Hunting, the Jet Provost entered RAF service in 1955 as the Jet Provost T.1 (9 built). The T.3 was followed by the T.4 (198 built) first flown in 1960 powered by a 2500lb.s.t.(11.12kN) Bristol Siddeley and with a MTOW of 7400lb(3359kg). The Jet Provost was superseded in RAF service by the BAe Hawk. A number of T.3 and T.4’s are now flying in civil markings. The T.3A was a refurbished T.3 with VOR and DME equipment.
