The Sabre Mk.6 is a licence-built version of the
North American F-86E Sabre. Canadair began production of the Sabre for
the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1949 and built a total of 1815 of all
versions including the CL-13A Mk.5 (370 built) which was powered by a
6355lb.s.t.(28.2kN) Avro. Also built were the Mk.2(352 built) and the
Mk.4(428 built) A small number of both the Mk.5 and Mk.6 remain active
in civil markings in the United States. The Mk.6 illustrated below was
unfortunately destroyed in 2002.
