CASA 2.111D


Construcciones Aeronauticas SA. (CASA) was founded in 1923 and has built versions of the following aircraft under licence. The Bucker Bu.131 Jungmann was built as the CASA 1.131 (550 built). A single seat version powered by a 160hp(119kW) Siemens was designated the CASA ES-1 (47 built). The Bucker Bu.133 Jungmeister was built as the CASA 1.133 (50 built). The Junkers Ju.52/3m was built as the CASA 352L (170 built) and the Heinkel He 111H-16 was built as the CASA 2.111. The Heinkel He 111H was one of Germany’s most important medium bombers during World War 11. Two versions of the CASA 2.111 were built, the 2.111D as above and the 2.111A (136 built) which were powered by 2x 1350hp(1007kW) Junkers. They served with the Spanish Air Force until 1976. One example remains airworthy in the United States.
