The prolific Luciole series began in 1930 with the
C.230 and ended with the C.278. These light touring biplanes were used
by French flying clubs in the inter-war years and some were used as
glider tugs. During World War 11 a number were used as liaison aircraft.
A total of 725 of all versions were built and a number remain airworthy
today, including examples of the C.270 (82 built) powered by a
95hp(71kW) Salmson and the C.275. The C.277 was powered by a 120hp
(89kw) Renault 4Pdi.
