Basically a more refined version of the
Model 120, the Cessna 140 featured extra cabin windows, manually
operated flaps and starter. The Cessna 140A (525 built) first flew in
1948 powered by a 90hp(67kW) Continental. The Model 140A featured all
metal wings of increased span (33’4"(10.16m) and single wing struts as
opposed to the V-braced struts of the Model 120/140. About 250 Model
140A’s and 2000+ Model 140’s remain active.
