Cessna 170

A larger four seat version of the Cessna 140, the Cessna 170 was the progenitor of the well known Model 172. The Model 170A (1536 built) introduced all metal wings and single wing struts as opposed to the V- braced struts of the Model 170. The Model 170B (2907 built) was powered by a 145hp Continental O-300 engine and introduced slotted Fowler flaps which improved low speed handling. All three versions remain active in large numbers.
