Cessna 177 Cardinal

Designed as a replacement for the Model 172, the Model 177 featured cantilever wings and a roomy cabin. The Model 177A (206 built) was introduced in 1968 powered by a 180hp(134kW) Lycoming to compensate for a perceived lack of power in the earlier model. This model was upgraded in 1969 to the Model 177B (1381 built) which had a redesigned aerofoil and cambered wingtips. Production ended in 1978. Large numbers remain active.
