Cessna 182


The Model 182 was derived from the Model 180 and featured a tricycle undercarriage. The Model 182A Skylane (1713 built) had an increased maximum take-off weight of 2650lb(1203kg). The Model 182B Skylane (802 built) had minor cosmetic improvements. The Model 182C Skylane (649 built) introduced a swept fin and extra cabin window on each side.

The Model 182D (591 built) had minor improvements and some were operated by the Canadian Army as the L-19L. The Model 182E (825 built) featured a cut down rear fuselage with rear windows and a maximum take-off weight of 2800lb(1271kg). The Model 182F (635 built) had minor improvements and the Model 182G (786 built) had elliptical rear side windows. The Model 182H (840 built) had minor improvements and the Model 182J (885 built) featured a narrower fin. This model was also built in Argentina as the DINFIA Cessna A182J (56 built). The Model 182K (840 built) had minor improvements as had the Model 182L (800 built). Both of these models were built in Argentina as the A182K (40 built) and the A182L (20 built). The Model 182M (750 built) had minor changes. The Model 182N (770 built) featured an improved instrument panel and had a maximum take-off weight of 2950lb(1339kg). This variant was also built in Argentina as the A182N (33 built). The Model 182P (4350 built) had a larger dorsal fin and was also built in France as the Reims Cessna F.182P (25 built). The Model 182Q (2540 built) introduced minor improvements and was built in France as the F.182Q (145 built). The Model 182R (900 built) was powered by a 235hp(175kW) Lycoming and had a maximum take-off weight of 3100lb(1407kg). Production of the Model 182 series ended in 1985 but was reopened in 1996 with the introduction of the Model 182S (950 built) which is similar to the Model 182R. The current production model is the Cessna 182T (473+ built) which was introduced in 2001. A popular high performance light aircraft, the Model 182 remains active in large numbers.
