The Dart Aircraft Company was formed by Al Mooney and
KK Culver in Ohio and their first design was the Model G Dart which was
based on the Monocoupe Monoprep G which had been designed by Mooney in
the early 1930’s. It was available in several variants including the
Model GK powered by a 90hp(67kW) Ken Royce and the Model GW powered by a
90hp Warner. The company was renamed the Culver Aircraft Company in 1939
and the type was renamed the Culver Dart. Production ended in 1940 but
was restarted in 1946 with the Model GC (20* built) which was powered by
a 100hp(74kW) Lycoming. About 29 Darts of different variants are extant
and a number remain airworthy. A Dart GC is illustrated below.
