Built by the Desoutter Aircraft Company of Croydon,
Surrey, the Desoutter 1 was a licence-built version of the Koolhoven
F.K.41. It was operated as an air taxi and private transport and a few
were impressed during World War 11. The Desoutter 11 (12 built) was
powered by a 120hp(89kW) DH Gipsy 111 and featured a number of design
modifications including new tail surfaces. One Desoutter 11 is preserved
in static condition in Australia and one Desoutter 1 is maintained in
flying condition by the Shuttleworth Trust.
