The Dewoitine D26 was a lower-powered training
version of the Dewoitine D27 fighter. The Swiss Air Force took delivery
of 9 in 1931 and they remained in service until 1948 when they were sold
to the Swiss Aero Club who used them as glider tugs. A small number
survive in airworthy condition, many re-engined with a 300hp (224kW)
Jacobs.
