Ector L-19 Mountaineer

The Ector Aircraft Company Inc. of Texas began civilianising ex-military Cessna L-19 Bird Dogs in the early 1980’s. The aircraft were completely rebuilt and re-designated L-19 Mountaineer. A small number were converted to L-19 Super Mountaineers by the installation of a 240hp(179kW) Lycoming. This model had a maximum take-off weight of 2800lb(1271kg). A few examples of both models remain active.
