The C-119B Flying Boxcar(55 built) was developed from
the C-82A Packet and was produced for the USAF, seeing service in Korea.
The C-119C(303 built) had a revised tail unit and was followed by the
C-119F(212 built) which had further tail changes. The C-119G was the
main production version and a number of these were converted to other
variants including the AC-119G(26 converted) and used as a gunship in
the Vietnam War. The C-119J (62 converted) had freight door
modifications. A small number of C-119G/J’s remain active.
