The FH-227 was a stretched version of the Fairchild
F.27 which was a licence built version of the Fokker F.27 Friendship. It
was built in a small number of variants including the FH-227C/D and E,
the differences between these variants being minimal and including
different propeller diameters and braking systems. A small number remain
in commercial service.
