The Metro was a commuter aircraft introduced at the
same time as the SA226-AT Merlin 1V (43 built) which was similar except
it was furnished as a 12 seat executive transport. The SA226-AT Merlin
1VA (35 built) featured rectangular rather than circular windows. The
SA227-AT Merlin 1VC (50+ built) was powered by 2x 1000shp(746kW)
Garretts, had the wingspan increased to 57’0"(17.37m) and a maximum
take-off weight of 14,000lb(6356kg). The SA227-AC Metro 111(283 built)
is the commuter version. The freight version which has no windows is
named the Expeditor. The SA227-DC Metro 23(30+ built) is a 22 seat
commuter aircraft powered by 2x 1100shp(820kW) Garretts and has a
maximum take-off weight of 16,500lb(7491kg). An example of the SA227-DC
