The Bravo series of training aircraft began with the
SIAI- Marchetti designed and FFA built S-202 which first flew in 1969
and which subsequently entered production as the FFA AS-202/15 Bravo(34
built). The /15 was powered by a 150hp(112kW) Lycoming and had a maximum
take-off weight of 2202lb(999kg). The main production model was the /18A
which was supplied mainly to military flying schools in Indonesia, Iraq,
Morocco, Uganda and Oman. A small number are operated by civil flying
schools. The FFA AS-202/32TP Turbine Bravo (2 built) first flew in 1992
powered by a 420shp(313kW) Allison and with a maximum take-off weight of
2381lb(1080kg). The AS-202 /26A(1 built) first flew in 1978 powered by a
260hp(193kW) Lycoming and with a maximum take-off weight of
2778lb(1261kg). F.F.A. which was founded in 1948 was taken over by FFT
of Germany in 1990 since when all production of Bravos has ended.
