Fleetwings F-5 Sea Bird

Fleetwings Inc. of Bristol, Pennsylvania was founded in 1930 and specialized in parts production for larger manufacturers as well as stainless steel welding for general engineering. In 1936 the company built one example of the F-4 Sea Bird amphibian powered by a 225hp(167kW) Jacobs engine. This was followed by the higher powered F-5 Sea Bird which featured a stainless steel hull. The company also built 25 examples of the Fleetwings BT-12 two seat basic trainer for the USAAF in 1942/43. One example of the Model F-5 remains in airworthy condition.
