Designed by Tom Peghiny, the Flightstar 11 SL is a
lighter version of the Flightstar 11 (30+ built) which first flew in
1987 and which has a maximum take-off weight of 970lb(441kg). Kits for
both of these types are available from Flightstar Inc. of Ellington,
Connecticut. Flightstar also provide kits of the Flightstar Spyder (30+
built) which is a single seat open cockpit ultralight powered by a
42hp(31kW) Rotax 477 and which has a maximum take-off weight of
650lb(295kg). The Spyder first flew in 1993. A heavier version of the
Spyder is the Flightstar Formula (20+ built). The Flightstar C-42
Cyclone is a two seat high wing ultralight first flown in 1995 powered
by an 80hp(59kW) Rotax 912 and with a maximum take-off weight of
992lb(450kg).
