The S.11 Instructor was Fokker’s first post World War
11 design to enter production and was modestly successful in the
immediate post war trainer market. The type saw service with the Royal
Netherlands Air Force who operated 40 examples, the Israel Defence Force
(41) and the Brazilian Air Force (100). It was also built under licence
in Italy by Macchi who delivered 150 to the Italian Air Force. The
Fokker S.12 (50 built) was a tricycle undercarriage version built in
Brazil. A few S.11’s remain airworthy in civil markings.
