The Forney Aircraft Manufacturing Co. of Colorado
bought the manufacturing rights to the Erco Model 415 Ercoupe from Vest
Aircraft in 1955 and proceeded to build the F-1 which had a redesigned
engine cowling and an improved canopy. They also built the F-1A(50
built) which featured a number of improvements including a new nosewheel
leg.
