The Sapphire was designed by Scott Winton who sold
the rights to Freedom Aerolites. This company built around twenty
finished examples before selling the rights to Sapphire Aircraft
Australia in 1998. Sapphire Aircraft are developing a two seat version
known as the Scenic. Kits of the Sapphire are now available to
homebuilders.
