Edward Marquart founded Marquart Aircraft Repairs in
California in 1955 and began designing and building biplanes including
the MA-3 Maverick and MA-4 Lancer which was a single seat sports biplane
powered by a 125hp(93kW) Lycoming and which had a maximum take-off
weight of 1000lb(454kg). His most successful design was the MA-5
Charger, plans of which were offered to homebuilders.
