McDonnell Douglas MD.900 Explorer


The MD.900 is now known as the Boeing MD Explorer and is a completely new design. The MD.900 was the initial utility version and was superseded in 1997 by the MD.902, now known as the Boeing MD Enhanced Explorer. This version features design changes which improve range by 7% and allows for a maximum take-off weight of 6500lb(2951kg). The maximum take-off weight with an external sling load is 6740lb(3057kg). The Combat Explorer is a military version capable of being armed with 70mm rocket pods and 0.50 machine guns.
