The M17 tourer was the first powered aircraft
designed by Willy Messerschmitt. Seven were built with the prototype
first flying in 1925. They were normally powered by a 29hp(21kW) Bristol
Cherub. One of the original aircraft has survived and is exhibited in a
museum. A replica was flown in 2004 and remains airworthy.
