The CAP-4 Paulistinha series of light aircraft were
actually manufactured by Campanhia Aeronautica Paulista from a design
which was known as the EAY-201 Ypiranga and which first flew in 1935. It
was a copy of the Piper Cub. Production ended in 1949. Neiva was founded
in 1953 to continue production of the CAP-4 which was done in parallel
with development of the improved Paulistinha 56. A handful of CAP-4’s
remain airworthy.
