The prototype Nord 1200 Norecrin first flew in 1945
powered by a 100hp(75kW) Mathis and was built in response to a
competition sponsored by the French ministry of transport for a new four
seat tourer. The first production model was the N.1201 Norecrin 1 which
was a three seater powered by a 140hp(104kW) Renault. The Norecrin 11
was followed by the N.1203 Norecrin 1V which was powered by a
170hp(127kW) Regnier. A military version was the two seat N.1203
Norecrin V which was armed with machine guns. The N.1203 Norecrin V1
first flown in 1955 was powered by a 145hp(108kW) Regnier. A small
number of Norecrins remain in airworthy condition.
