The Freelance was a promising design which failed to
make it to production status. It was basically an upgraded version of
the Britten-Norman BN-3 Nymph (1 built) which had first flown in 1969
powered by a 115hp(86kW) Lycoming O-235-C1B. The prototype Freelance (G-NACI)
in fact was a conversion of the Nymph airframe. The second example (G-NACA)
is designated NAC-2. Both these aircraft remain airworthy.
