Northrop T-38A Talon


The prototype T-38 was first flown in 1959 powered by 2x 2100lb.s.t.(9.34kN) General Electrics and the production T-38A entered service with the USAF in 1961. The Luftwaffe operated 46 for training in the United States and the US Navy operated five examples. Portugal was the only other user of the T-38A, 12 being delivered from 1977. Production ended in 1972 and although the type is still in service with the USAF a small number have appeared in civil markings.
