Payne Knight Twister Imperial  


The Knight Twister Imperial was developed from the original Payne Knight HT-85 Twister which first flew in 1933 and which was designed by Vernon Payne. The KT-85 was a single seater powered by a 90hp(67kW) Continental and had a maximum take-off weight of 960lb (435kg). The Knight Twister Imperial was intended as a competitor in the Sport Biplane class at the US National Air Races. The SKT-125 Sunday Knight Twister was powered by a 125hp(93kW) Lycoming and had a maximum take-off weight of 1016lb(461kg).
