The Aircamper was designed by Bernard H. Pietenpol
and first flew in 1929 powered by a 40hp(30kW) Ford Model A. Plans and
kits were available and the early models were all wood and powered by a
variety of engines. Many variants have been built including the Challis
Chaffinch. The Grega GN-1 Aircamper (500+ built) was a modernised
version which was designed by John W. Grega and first flown in 1965.
Very similar to the original Aircamper it can be powered by engines up
to 85hp(63kW).
