The first turboprop version of the Porter was the
PC-6/ A-H1 and the Turbomeca Astazou engine greatly improved the types
performance. Other Astazou installations were in the PC-6/A-H2 powered
by a 630shp (469kW) Turbomeca and the PC-6/ A1-H2 powered by a
700shp(522kW) Turbomeca. A small number of Astazou powered Turbo-Porters
remain active.
