SAI (Skandinavisk Aero-Industri A/S) was formed at
Kastrup in 1937 to put into production the designs of Viggo Kramme and
Karl Zeuthan. The first KZ design was the KZ-1 light sports aircraft
which was not put into production. It was confiscated by the Germans
during World War 11. This original aircraft was powered by a 38hp(26kW)
ABC Scorpion. The VW-powered replica was first flown in 1988 and remains
airworthy.
