One of the world’s oldest manufacturers of gliders,
Schleicher was founded by Alexander Schleicher in 1927. A number of the
standard gliders have been produced in powered variants including the
ASK 16, ASK 14 single seater which was first flown in 1967 and is
powered by a 26hp(19kW) Hirth and has a maximum take-off weight of
793lb(360kg). The ASW 22BE single seater was first flown in 1986 and is
powered by a 48hp(35kW) Rotax and has a maximum take-off weight of
1653lb(750kg).
