Schweizer Ag-Cat Super B Turbine 680

In 1981 Schweizer acquired the rights to the Grumman G-164 Ag-Cat from Gulfstream American, having built the type under licence since 1959. The Ag-Cat Super Turbine B was available with three alternative powerplants, including the 500shp(373kW), 680shp and 750shp (559kW) Pratt & Whitneys. The G-164C (44 built) was powered by a 600shp(450kW) Pratt & Whitney and the G-164D (24 built) was powered by a 750shp P & W and had a maximum take-off weight of 8500lb(3859kg). In 1995 the Ag-Cat Corporation of Missouri bought the rights to the type from Schweizer and have continued to manufacture it. More than 2700 Ag-Cats of all versions have been built. The Ag-Cat Super B Turbine was also built under licence by Ethiopian Airlines SC of Addis Ababa, Ethiopa. This version was known as the EAL Eshet and was first flown in 1986. At least 20 were built.
