The Schweizer Aircraft Corporation of Elmira, New
York, formerly the Schweizer Metal Aircraft Corporation, was formed in
1939 by Ernest, Paul and William Schweizer. They have long been the
leading designers and manufacturers of gliders in the United States. The
SGM 2-37 was developed from the Schweizer SGS 2-32 glider and all of the
examples built were delivered to the United States Air Force Academy as
the TG-7A where they are operated in civil markings.
