Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer

Scottish Aviation was formed in 1935 and entered aircraft production with the Scottish Aviation Pioneer (59 built) which was a STOL light transport first flown in 1950 powered by a 520hp(388kW) Alvis. The Twin Pioneer was a larger aircraft and was ordered by the RAF as the CC.1 (32) and the CC.2 (7). They were operated in a number of roles including supply dropping, freight and passenger transport and casualty evacuation. They entered military service in 1958 and were retired in 1968. The Malaysian Air Force operated 15 examples. A handful remain airworthy.
