The Sherpa utility aircraft was designed by Sherpa
Aircraft Manufacturing Inc. of Oregon as a general purpose rough terrain
transport. The company has entered into an agreement with a Russian
company to manufacture parts for different variants of this basic
airframe. Kits are to be made available to homebuilders. The kits are
for three distinct variants. The Sherpa K-300, illustrated here, is the
basic variant. The 8 seat Sherpa C-400 is powered by a 450hp(335kW)
Lycoming TIO-720 and has a maximum take-off weight of 5500lb(2491kg).
The 8 seat Sherpa C-500T is powered by a 750shp(558kW) Walter M-601 and
has a maximum take-off weight of 6100lb(2763kg).
