Sherpa Aircraft Sherpa

The Sherpa utility aircraft was designed by Sherpa Aircraft Manufacturing Inc. of Oregon as a general purpose rough terrain transport. The company has entered into an agreement with a Russian company to manufacture parts for different variants of this basic airframe. Kits are to be made available to homebuilders. The kits are for three distinct variants. The Sherpa K-300, illustrated here, is the basic variant. The 8 seat Sherpa C-400 is powered by a 450hp(335kW) Lycoming TIO-720 and has a maximum take-off weight of 5500lb(2491kg). The 8 seat Sherpa C-500T is powered by a 750shp(558kW) Walter M-601 and has a maximum take-off weight of 6100lb(2763kg).
