Shield Xyla

The Xyla was designed and built by Mr. Shield who was headmaster at Mexborough Grammar School in Yorkshire. It was damaged in an accident at Finmere in 1980 and rebuilding commenced at Uckfield in 1996, the aircraft making its first post restoration flight in 1999. It has an aerobatic capability and has recently been re-engined.
